HOW WILL YOUR LEGACY BE USED?
Leaving a bequest to Fondazione Marea means continuing to nurture what you’ve always believed in: a Sicily that appreciates local talents and builds communities. Every action, big or small, becomes part of a shared vision: giving voice, dignity, and future to those who choose to stay and drive change.
WHAT LEGACY CAN YOU LEAVE?
You can donate various types of assets: real estate (such as houses or land) or movable assets (items, securities, accounts, funds). As a non-profit organisation, Fondazione Marea can receive bequests without them being subject to taxes.
HOW TO MAKE A LEGACY DONATION?
There are three types of wills: holographic, secret, and public. Each will can be amended or revoked at any time. You can appoint an executor in your will, a trusted individual who will ensure all the clauses are carried out. Rest assured, your loved ones are always protected by law during the inheritance process.
HOLOGRAPHIC WILL
It must be entirely handwritten by the testator, dated (with day, month, and year), and signed at the end of the provisions. This personal touch ensures the authenticity and integrity of the document, aligning with Fondazione Marea’s values of fostering a sense of culture and community, inspired by the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean. With every stroke of the pen, it reflects a dedication to heritage and innovation, encouraging our international supporters to connect with Sicily's enduring legacy.
SECRET WILL
It can be prepared either by the testator or by third parties. If handwritten, a signature at the end of the provisions is sufficient.
PUBLIC WILL
Crafted by a notary in the presence of two witnesses, this document is preserved within notarial records and lovingly shared with the public upon the testator's passing, celebrating the culture and traditions that embody Sicily's vibrant spirit.
